About the artist

Wellington artist Owen Smith paints the New Zealand landscape using oils.

Owen's latest work is a series based on Mt Kaukau and the surrounding hills and streams in Wellington. He walks the tracks and, weather permitting - sets up his easel and attempts to capture the peace and stillness to be found there. Larger studio paintings are then created at home.

Owen is a member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts (NZAFA),
and regularly displays work in their group exhibitions.

The next NZAFA group exhibition will be held at Wellington Cathedral and will have an Autumn theme. You can find out more here

Owen will be showing some smaller works in April at the 30 x 30 Exhibition which is a group show
hosted by artists Mike Delany and Marc de Boer at their Artists 24.7 Gallery.
247 Riddiford St, Newtown, Wellington.

You can also purchase some of Owen's work online from the lovely people at The Arts Hole, a gallery based in Queenstown - please check them out.
